IF SOMETHING IS WORTH DOING, IT'S WORTH DOING WELL!!

THANKS TO EVERYONE (SWIMMERS, PARENTS AND FRIENDS OF KSSC, AS WELL AS POOL STAFF) FOR A SUPER PENTATHLON MEET. Not only did we experience a really well run meet, many of our swimmers had some super fast swims!! All volunteer participation was really appreciated, with special thanks to Chantal Gellert for an excellent job coordinating all the volunteers. Swimmers new to competition (Nia, Nazir, Sophia) had outstanding performances! Without sounding like a broken record......swimmers need to perform turns in practice, like they want to at a meet. You race the way you train! For the few swimmers who were disqualified for various infractions, it's simply a learning experience and we'll keep working on doing the right thing.

SWIMMER OF THIS DECKSPRAY is Ashley Gellert! Ashley has been training since September with a strong focus and a very positive work ethic. Her results at the meet showed both technically and in improved times. Keep up the great work Ashley!

PRACTICE SCHEDULE - Again, a huge thank you to the many swimmers who have stayed home when sick - coaches realize it's frustrating for you when you miss a few practices, but it's short term pain for long term gain! We're not over the worst of the cold/flu season yet, so keep washing your towels (more than once every few weeks!!!). You might also want to check for mold in your bathing caps too!

PRACTICE CHANGES COMING UP:  regular practices this week. PLUS

• Wednesday, Oct 28th - Squad C swimmers' meeting during regular practice hours.
• Friday, Oct 30th is a special Hallowe'en practice for Squad A, B, C and Jr Sharks from 1630-1800hrs. Costume parade is at 1645 with 1st and 2nd place prizes for the best costumes. (Costumes will be removed before going in the water!!). Come and join in the fun! Get ready to race with the ghoulies and rats!!
