KSSC SWIM TEAM REGISTRATION

1. REGISTRATION FEES: Registration fees may be paid in full or divided over 6 months. An initial payment of $300 per child with the balance divided over 6 months (1 Oct – 1 Mar) is permitted. The fee structure is attached and varies depending on the level and type of membership that you qualify for. The forms will be posted on the website by 1 July.

2. FUNDRAISING : All swimmers are expected to swim in the Swim a thon. This is run normally in April by most clubs across Ontario. All swimmers should raise $100 in sponsorships. The structure of this event allows parents to contribute and receive a tax deductible receipt and their child will receive some clothing items at the same time.

3. PARENTAL COMMITMENT : Swimming is unlike many other sports, in that parents are required to assist as officials during meets. All home meets will require parents to work ALL sessions. A significant number of qualified parents are required to allow a meet to run smoothly. Teenage siblings are also welcome to assist with meets and will be provided with volunteer hours for their high school volunteer commitments. Hosting meets allows the club to keep registration fees and fund raising costs at reasonable levels. Running meets requires qualified officials so all parents are expected to take the officials courses. This applies to new parents as well as returning parents. Some meets also require parents to volunteer at away meets (DIV III, EOSA LC etc). This is an opportunity to demonstrate to your kids that you are committed and involved in their swimming. All levels of swimmers are required to meet this commitment.

4. Hosted Meets. For the 10/11 swim season the Sharks will be hosting 3 meets. The first meet will be a one session morning meet on Sunday 24 Oct 2010. The second meet (Icebreaker) will be a one session morning meet on Sunday 16 Jan 2011. This meet will be the last opportunity for the Shark kids to qualify for the EOSA SC Championships. The last meet will be a two session meet on Sunday 29 May 2011.

5. Parents wishing to purchase bathing caps, swim equipment (pull buoys, paddles, flutterboards etc) will be provided information in Sept by the Head Coach.
